What is Þorrablót?

Þorrablót is an ancient Norse holiday that celebrates Thor, the god of thunder, protection, holiness, agriculture, and the common people. It was celebrated during the winter season where people would feast and recite poetry together. Nowadays, many Pagans use it to celebrate Thor and the protection he gives us throughout the year.

Who is Thor?

Thor is the Norse god of thunder and protection. He is now very famous due to his Marvel counterpart but the real Thor is very different. He is a massive, red-haired, and strong god who fights the enemies of the gods with his sacred hammer. This hammer is used as a symbol of Norse Paganism because it is so powerful and important. He is also a patron of agriculture, weather, hallowing, and a champion of the common people. Thor is a popular god in modern Paganism as he is reliable, strong, and ready to help humanity. He is often reported as being a big fan of stouts and dark beer.
